Kern County Subbasin Probationary Hearing Continuance
The California State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board or Board) noticed and held a public hearing on February 20, 2025, to consider whether to designate the Kern County Subbasin as a probationary basin pursuant to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). As identified in Resolution No. 2025-0007, the State Water Board continued the February 20, 2025 Kern County Subbasin probationary designation hearing to September 17, 2025.
The continued hearing will be included as an item on the September 16-17, 2025, Board meeting agenda. The hearing continuance will occur on the second day of the Board meeting and may start as early as, but not before, 9:00 a.m.
The expected order of events for the continued hearing are described below; however, time limits, breaks, panels, and the order of events may change at the discretion of the Board Chair. Board questions and discussions may occur throughout.
